Parents and Students,
In all classes, a very important calendar update was given out. Please click the link below to download it.
So, we are going to try something new.
Found this site called VYou.com. Basically you can ask me any question and I can respond with a video. So, lets see what happens:
OK. I am working on stuff for the fall. Last year we talked about getting a hoodie. Please vote in the poll below. Feel free to put some suggestions in the comments area.
Parents and Students,
There is a new section of the website that has gone live. It is a supplies area. It has links to online music stores and specific strengths and other things that you might need.
It is password protected to keep it from the outside world. The password is "practice"
7th Graders - I STRONGLY suggest NOT going online to get you instrument. Online instruments do not come with insurance. We will have information about renting instruments when school starts. However, Williamson Music company has the brands that we recommend and you can set it up with them online. They are also very reasonably priced. You will NOT need your supplies in the first week of school. We will tell you in each class when to bring your instrument and supplies.
8th Graders - You will need your supplies the first week of school. Probably the second day of school. So, now would be a great time to order those reeds, oil, etc.
If you know of any other online stores, please e-mail me and I will add them to the list.
Dear Parents and Students,
I hope that you are having a WONDERFUL summer! I have been living at Hawaiian Falls as often as possible. I am actually a little bit tan, too! :-)
Well, it is August 1st and it is time to start thinking about band class! Sometime today (hopefully) you should be getting a letter from me. If you just can't wait, you can get it in the "Handouts & Files" area of Charms, or here is a link to it:
8th Grade Summer Letter
Parents, there is a letter in there for you also.
Couple of things that you need to do:
#1 - If you are going to come to the picnic, please go to Charms and RSVP (tell me you are coming) so I can have enough food for everybody.
#2 - Start working on your All-City music that is in the letter!!
Now, if you haven't got you letter yet, you can download it from either the "Handouts & Files" area. They are in a folder called "City / Region Music". You should only see the music for your instrument. If you are a Double Reed (Oboe,Bassoon) or Saxophone (Alto, Tenor, Bari) you will have to pick the appropriate one. Baritone players, your instrument is listed under "Euphonium" Be sure to get that one, not the one that says Baritone TC.
Scale sheets look different, but they are the same notes and rhythms. Then, Selection 1 and Selection 2. Start working on small parts of it.
You can also go to the band website and download them there. However, they are password protected. So, if you do it that way, the password is "practice" :-)
I hope you are ready for a GREAT year! I am so excited and can't wait to see you all on August 23rd for some hot dogs!!!!
If you have ANY questions, please feel free to e-mail or call!
OK. I am working on the schedule for next year. I am trying to make a decision on what to do for the Spring Trip. Please vote on the issue below:
If you are interested, the calendar for next year should display on the Calendar page of the website. NOTE! It is not complete, but I have started on it.
When it is actually done, I will e-mail you a copy. It won't be final until about a week before school starts.
