Kayla Crowley is proud to serve as Associate Director of Bands at McDonald Middle School in Mesquite, TX.
Ms. Crowley attended McKinney High School in McKinney, TX, where she served as a drum major for the Royal Pride Band. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. At Texas Tech, Ms. Crowley studied flute with Dr. Lisa Garner-Santa and performed with numerous ensembles, including the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Sarah McKoin, the Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Eric Allen, and the Flute Choir, under the direction of Dr. Garner-Santa. Notable performances include: the 2017 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) convention and the 2016 College Band Director Association (CBDNA) convention. Additionally, Ms. Crowley served as a section leader and visual instructor for the Goin’ Band from Raiderland, taught private lessons in Lubbock, TX, and has worked the Texas Tech Band & Orchestra Camp for the past six years.
Prior to her time at McDonald, Ms. Crowley student-taught at Cockrill Middle School and McKinney North High School. She received the TMEA College Music Educator Award. During the spring of 2018, she worked at Coppell Middle School North as the substitute assistant band director.
Professional affiliations include: Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.
Ms. Crowley resides in Dallas, TX. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, attend concerts of all genres, and play with her Boston Terrier puppy, Piper. She is SO excited to begin her second year with the McDonald Band!
